Iirc about 35 in my kart, modded 212 with 7:1 ratio. Got a friend who hit the 40s with i think a stock 212 and 5:1ratio.

Yeah, huge, I know. I picked up a free cart yesterday but there are no wheels on it. The axle is 1"OD, and while I can find rear wheels with that ID I can't find affordable front wheels on bushings...

From what I understand, the difference in cams is in the bearing journals.personally I would t try to mix and match parts unless I had a lot of time and experience.

I don't know poop about torque converters, which is probably evident.

Looks like a motorcycle engine/sprocket. How much play is there? A small amount (very very small) would be normal, the "washer" that's bolted on is what keeps it on.

There's a guy on fb who makes frames like those, the welded frame is $800 and the welded it yourself frame is $375. Says he had one with a TC and a nearly stock 212 do 64 mph....
