Hemi no start.

Installed a 22mm motorcycle carb, and can't get it to fire. Has custom intake. Header and governor removed. Never fired new with oem carb. Cam came out with cover but reinstalled with the piston at TDC and dots lined up. Now does it have waste spark or could that affect TDC if off a revolution.

Your pushrods are probably not under the rocker arms.

If you're not getting spark it may not have enough oil.

BirdFanatic 10-05-2016 03:14 PM

Is the pull cord trying to eat your arm ?

Jfive 10-05-2016 04:17 PM

Removed oil sensor filled with 16oz. Oil, but might be lifter. I had one that kept falling out. Had spark but didn't seam to get fuel. I'll get starter fluid at Wal-Mart tonight pull valve cover check that and retry.

My arms tired from pulling it but just cause it would not start.

Take off the valve cover, fix the pushrods, set the lash

Or make it look stock and return it to Harbor Freight.
That is what I did, cause I didn't know to fix the pushrods.

Took the valve cover off, and both push rods were off the rocker arms. I'll assume that was it. Need to look up lash and I'll check it. Then later today I'll put it outside and retry to fire it up.

That'll do it!!! You can double check...and someone correct me if I'm wrong...but on the newer Predators I believe they are 0.003" for both intake and exhaust.

That is what I set my last hemi build at and it ran great.

JIK....The lash needs to be set at TDC on the COMPRESSION stroke....TDC on the exhuast and it won't run.

Probably has too much lash. I didn't check it yet but could see it with my eyes. Runs now and just need to have it mounted to get a video. Hit the throttle and I straight rips compared to oem carb on my lifan. Idle is low so I'll need to adjust it, but fired first pull. How I have it rigged to start.

So, you're starting it with an angle grinder?

Jfive 10-06-2016 03:06 PM

Fooling around with the engine after the truth of the above statement was realized was your first mistake.

You did not purchase a functioning, viable product and the whole cash for goods transaction was null and void. You should have exchanged it at the store.
