Whats Up with that?

I asked why all the threads have locks and got an answer that the system closes them after like 90 days or so to keep things fresh. Whats wrong with that idea????? Well first off it can't be 90 days cause I posted in Dec. and it closed in January so it must be 30 day's. Thats still not right cause I want to sell a kart and have to keep posting it over and over.....?? Don't sound like a good system to me...I was in Hospital for 28 days or my friend was out of town for 30 days or just busy and didn't get to it. Now its locked and so what to do?? I posted a add to sell a kart and didn't have the pic's now I got them and can't post? Ah S**t well its off to the other site to post them there.........T

You know what, I had the impression at first that the threads locked after 90 days, but one of mine locked after about a month too. I don't know if something got changed or what happened.... Robert?

OK, I exempted the For Sale forum -- so threads here will never lock. The other threads lock 40 days after the last post. It was at 21 days. We'll see how that works. I might pull it back down again later. I think that it's very important to keep things fresh -- it's no sweat to start another thread rather than pulling up a thread that is a year old or more... Keeps things on topic too.

Well I'm not saying thank you to Robert for his useful post ... I think it sucked... I sold the kart on another site and just couldn't deal with threads that close whenever someone feels like it ........Its one thing to moniter and quite another to dictate

Ya know what, this is not a classified ad site. It is a place to share ideas that JUST HAPPENS to have a for sale section. If you want to sell something, list it in a paper or something...there obviously isn't a ton of things selling here due to the fact that everyone is mainly here to SHARE IDEAS and NOT buy/sell. :rolleyes:

I agree; The main goal of this site is to knock ideas around, not be craigslist. There is a section where you can buy and sell, but that's not what this web site is about. Also, I don't think Robert was being a dictator in what he did. He completely unlocked the classifieds, which loosened everything up a bit.
