Started as a Schwinn Stingray XL, features 125cc Panterra w/5 speed, Ninja 250 rear tire/rim, Yamaha tank, Honda controls, Schwinn Spoiler forks, and a lot of trial and error. I have it titled as a M/C and ride it on the street. Gets around 80-90 mpg with a top speed of 65-70mph

My son riding it:

Man, those are great! Do you have pics that show how you mounted the Briggs engine to the frame? How much of it was TIG welded? That just might be a solution to buying a frame kit...

No tig welding! The briggs engine was installed into the smaller schwinn frame which meant cutting the bottom out and replacing with motor plate. Here's a link to all my pics, feel free to sift thru and find what can help, keep in mind that some ideas work and some don't, so not all the pics are good ideas!

Thanks for the links! If not TIG'd, did you MIG it...? I just assumed the frames were made out of aluminum or very thin walled tubing.

The Schwinn frames are thin steel, except the spoiler (black bike) whcih is aluminum. I use a Linoln weld pak 100 and at first the thin stuff was challenging, but with practice it can be done!

That's good info! I'd have to check the frame with a magnet before I would start this project. I've got a Miller DVI, which I could set up for gas (tri-mix) and use .024 wire. My idea is to use a 5.5 Briggs Intek, and a TAV-2. I'll check your pics for how to mount the rear sprocket and brake. I'm building a mini-chopper for my 10 yo son, and figure the chopper frame would be about perfect for his size. If it didn't work out, the only thing I'd be out was the cost of the bike... everything else could be moved to a "real" chopper frame.

The intek would probably fit without cutting the frame, the flattheads are just a little too tall. The black bike has a GX200 clone in it without any cutting, but since it's aluminum I made a clamping motor plate with the 2 speed jackshaft integrel, it will be much easier on a typical OCC. I made some adaptors to mount the sprocket to the hub, but there is a guy on ebay that sells them.

How did you make the adapters? I was thinking about using an MCP Hyd rear brake set-up, but am unsure about the clearance limitations.

How did you get that sproket on? Is it 41?

Some of the adaptors were made from scratch, on a lthe, a few others were made from modified hubs that already had the sprocket bolt pattern. i cut them to fit the non drive side of the wheel hub and carefully drilled between spokes for 4 or 5 mm bolts (dont remember!). The brake hub was "pinched" with the internals from the old free wheel sproket, as long as it is on the right (left) side it can only tighten . It is a #35 chain sprocket.

WOW! this is Seriously AMAZING. I have the chrome and red occ chopper bike and I really wanna slap a engine on it too. I just bought it on craigslist for $30. The only problem is...I dont know much at all about engines. My friend can weld very well, so hes goin to help me with that. I just want it to move and FAST. im not to worried about lights and all that as of now. Any suggestions of engines size? is it possible to keep every thing stock just find a way to put a engine on it. like will i need to change the spocket and rear tire rim? sorry this is long, I just dont know much.
