"maybe". matters on clutch and how you intend to re-gear the bike. There's some other threads on this, too.

you have a BIG problem. It will power your bike depending if you and the bike weigh light enough. If you take the chainsaw and have it running for a long time full out (unlike using it like achainsaw, cutting 1 peice of wood and off the throttle) you will heat up the clutch and warp it and make it unusable. some kid did this in my tech shop and ended up paying a customer an x ammount of $$$. find yourself a vertcial shaft motor or weedwacker motor. weedwacker needs to be able to shift gears but vertcial shaft motor needs centrifugal clutch (about 30 bucks for a decent 1).

hes saying the weed wacker is weak and gears would be best if used, and hes saying for on without a clutch its more heavy duty.
