My in-law gave me the ok to take his 400cc briggs that he was working on and trying to convert to horizontal.

im going to be using it as a challenge for the current project while i wait on the parts.

First question what to do for lubrication i had an idea that anderkart gave me of a dry sump setup w/ an external pump. Would that work?

Second question could i adapt the carb from the 25hp kohler to it along with one of teh coils?

Third question would this enging be able to power a 14b or any other small turbo if i attached an emissions pump to the exhaust manifold?

If it's spash lube then its a really big job to make it dry sump. REALLY big job.

Ok this is what your going to need to do..... make a 90* motor mount and find a spot on the block to support the flywheel side. After that your going to need to turn the carburettor so the bowl is down unless its a diapragm carburettor. after that take some kinda thick steel and make yourself a rod mounted dipper. have it bent so it faces the clyinder. and your done lol

And do you really live in lancaster pa? if so hi neibor!

Can the motor mount be made from 1" square tubing?

The could i use the carb off the kohler it's a diaphram carb with pulse pump and how would u mount it?

Also would It be possible to adapt one of the coils of the kohler

also would it be possible to mount one of the coils off the kohler on it

You could use the carb but it would probably have to be re-jetted unless fuel intake is increases by a lot. The coil depends, if the ignition type is the same, it possibly could be, but the pickups would have to be in the exact right spot or your timing would be off.

Go her! and you can use the 1 inch square for a motor mount you might want a plate that goes on there also.
