Hi, Im new to kart building and was thinking of building one for a school project. Would it be possible to use the sprockets from a mountain bike on the rear axle to have different gear ratios. Even if its not possible to have different sizes could you use a single one and hook it up to a maxtorque clutch or do they use different size chains.

I'm not sure what hp it is but its a 160cc victa 2-stroke lawnmower engine.
Do motorcycles use the same size chain as the maxtorgue clutch? I need a cheap solution as i dont have a big budget.

ok is your lawnmower engine a vertical or horizantal shaft if its vertical you wont be able to use it without some bevel gears and stuff and some other stuff so its not really worth it in other words you should get a horizantal shaft engine and most motorcycles dont use the same size as a maxitorque clutch
hope this helps
