i found this useful for strengths ect. and it also tells you pitch/roller diameter.

All u need to no about chain. Say 35#, the first number is out of /8 of an inch and thats ur distance between pins. So for 35#, it is 3/8 of an inch. 42# chain, 4/8 or 1/2 inch between pins.

The second number is the type of chain. 0 for standard proportions, 1 for lightweight chain, and 5 for rollerless bushed chain.

Note: This only works for ANSI roller chain. Metric chain is out of /16 of an inch. Heavy weight chain like on motorcycles and such is different again.
