I have a bet going between my friend and I on the differences between the 2-stroke and 4-stroke options for a minibike. I know how both engines work, but power and torque differences are unknown to me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

2 strokes are usually faster but have less power at lower speeds. 4 strokes have more power but are not as fast. 2 strokes are generally less efficient with gas than 4 strokes. With 2 strokes you have to mix gasoline with an oil made specifically for them.

2 stroke have more power on the high end and have more rpms. 4 strokes have more torque and less rpms.

2 strokes have better power to weight ratios than 4 strokes. 2 strokes -> less parts = less weight but more complicated to troubleshoot.
