I have a techumseh transaxle, how do I figure out what model it is?

Should have a little shiny ID tag on it somewhere, normally on the side or front. Take a picture of the transaxle and i could possible tell you what it is/where the tag is.

Ive looked all over it. No numbers. Small shaft, maybe 1/2. righ to left gear config.
54321NR on top of the trans. Not sure if its a transmission or transaxle. The shaft runs through it. Its on a very old Weedeater mower from sears.

trying to find it. is it a separate part from the rearend or is it a rear w/ tranny?
10-13-2009, 04:07 PM
The shaft runs straight through it, its part of the tranny.

so a transaxle, ok. they do have just trannies. try 3 speed with reverse thread, you can see some units that are just trannies
