View Full Version : motor,speed controller, sprocket

hi all a few days ago i made a thread about a billy kart i had. It did 9 mph (dunnno what that is in KPH sorry). I blew it all up.
Ive extracted the motor,speed controller box thingy and batteries, could you have a look tell me whats worth using on my currentp roject to convert a light wieght pedal go kart to powered

you can probably use that motor/speed control/battery for another project but I wouldn't expect you'd move too fast.

you can purchase those motors for like $20 on Ebay. If I were trying to use this for a lightweight Kart application I would buy another motor and set up two motors on independant rear axles, that way you can power one motor at a time for extra tight turning since you won't really be moving very you could at least do some donuts!

thanks but i already have all my chassis and drive train wired in, just been waiting for the motoe, could i over volt to boost the power?

Yes you can over volt to increase the speed but keep in mind that you may want see if you can find some ratings for your speed controller (if your using it) and make shure it can handle the extra voltage.

You could arrange your batteries for more current instead and get a little more run time out of your project before having to recharge.;)
