hey all i have seen a lot of stuff on the internet about lawnmower racing. i heard that all is done to make the lawn mowers ready to fly is switch the front and back drive pulleys around and they haul. is this true? if so it sounds easy and fun. i think id like to try it some time.

Yes, that's more or less true. I'm sure the racers might do something a little more elegant, but that method works to an extent.

iv seen guys pull the axles out and replace the motor with a horizantal shaft and then put a go kart style axle in it but i think that this is for the high performance ones only {as the original axles usually dont have any berings or bushings in them so the axles just rest on the housing which is aluminum usually}

yeah that would really defeat the purpose. then you would be better off to just get a kart. i was just wondering because i see a lot of really cheap mowers.

the only problem with using the mowers is that the parts to gear them up are usually hard to find
