100 amp arc welder?

since my dad knows how to arc weld i'm going to get an arc welder. is 100 amp is good enough or do i need something a little more heavy duty

i would get a 140 pluss one
u would onley be abull to use a 2mm rod with a 100amp one i think i also find the bigger the rod the easyer it is to weld i use 3mm rods in mine most of the time
