hey guys i saw this on some web site.
it said something about putting a 50T gear on the engine and a 10t on the jackshaft then a 10t to a 60 on the axle...
he claimed to get a very good gain with with this but i doubt he did but hey worth asking i guess.
i'll see if i can find a link to it.

Thats a final gear reduction of 1.2:1 if im not mistaken, so no that wont be a gain worth ****, you wont move.

The jackshaft having the same size gears makes it a wash in an idealistic sense.
50 : 10 : 60 translates to a 50 : 60 ratio or 1.2 on the nose as Mr Krunch suggests.

dont know but i think the guy was trying to increase rpm without touching the govener?

See, thats just stupid, because it wouldnt, it would just change the gearing. The engine will still spin the same rpm range, the jackshaft may spin 6,000-18,000 instead of 1200-3600, but it wont allow him to go faster, in fact he wont go anywhere.

If he had a hill to push down, it would go hella fast.
