Wouldn't it be great if moderators would spell check their postings ? That way there would be no confusion in their explanations to the younger Karters, Canadian and US english should be the same, so that would help clear things up.

spell check would be nice from everyone lol
the Google Tool Bar has a spell check tool in it, very handy (as my spelling skills are somewhat lacking lol)

but sometimes differences in the English of different countries cant really be avoided.
eg, the propeller of a boat or plane would be called a propeller or "prop" in the States, but in England it might be called the "screw". (or maybe another country, sorry if I'm wrong lol)

i think the best you can do about that is just politely ask what the person meant. no big deal, plus you learn a little culture from around he world.

the screw? wtf propellor or prop here!

well, a propeller is essentially a really short screw, so the name does make as much sense as propeller when you think about it.

but i always say propeller/prop, as I'm from the U.S. lol
and I'm sure there are other words we use that ppl from other countries think are really weird too. lol

I'd tend to use the term screw rather than prop when relating to ships marine craft and the like.
