Hi, im trying to make a mini chopper and i am having trouble with the frame design. i dont have a pipe bender, but i have a plasma cutter and a mig welder. i dont know how long it should be, or the angle of the forks and how far they should stick out. so right now i am utterly  and if i dont think of anything soon i will get  , but if i make it and it breaks apart while i am driving it this will be the expression on my face

the "rake" of the forks, aka, the angle which means how far out they stick, is usually at most about 45 degrees. pull it in more for better turning, more stability. The mini chopper on the site here is raked at around 50-55, and it's waaaaay too much. the forks are starting to bend.

You don't need a bender, just make angled cuts for the frame and weld them up nice!

i made a go kart with one of my friends. i am in charge of the frame, we are using pipe. at first we tried making a angle cut with the plasma cutter, but that didnt turn out very well. so instead we went with a "T" like the one pictured below.http://C:\Documents and Settings\Hannah\My Documents\My Pictures\untitled.bmp

lol have fun cutting a good angle with a plasma cutter. Its like trying to draw a sraight line without a ruler. If you have access to some kind of band saw that would help. i can't see the picture its got that stupid x thingy on it but i used a horizontal bandsaw for all my cuts.
