Straight 30 weight or a oil designed specifically for splash lubed engines.

No engine manufacturer recommends any additive.

Most racers use synthetic oil so it would be ok for yard karts.

Best race oil is the green briggs stuff, its designed specifically for splash lubed engines(unlike car oil which is meant for pressurized lubrication systems in much tighter more precise engines).

My fave is Mobil One 5w-30w..... plenty thin enough for splash, but still meets the 30w requirement when things heat up. My clones hardly even change it's color after hours of running.

I have stopped many a car from burning oil and knocking by using lucas additive,it really works. But have always just used briggs oil in all small motors.I noticed that lucas has a motor oil for karts and was just wondering if any of my brothers used it in their karts..:cheers2:
