:idea2: hey i thought we were going to do a kart of the month have every body vote every month and post up there kart on the main page until the end of the month for bragging rights i think this would push karters to build cooler neater and wilder karts and would be great for a kid or old dog like some of us to inspire others to build .i think this is a great idea any body second it?:iagree:

I'm not fond of the idea of "who's kart is better" because from my understanding, thats not what the site is about. I am concerned that people coming to the site could gain that impression and become competitive jerks; e.g. "Thats **** mines better". I'm not sure if thats how it would happen though.
Perhaps "Unique kart of the month" or something along the lines of praising the good points of every kart, not singling out any in particular, e.g. Best sounding, fastest, e.t.c. We also need to then accommodate minibikes and mini choppers so perhaps "Most Unique/Individual vehicle of the month"
my 2c.

i think a better option would be to make a new section listed something along the lines of cart-bike show case and only have the finished project on their with perhaps a prevue picture then have a voting system for bet use of matereals, speed fun factor etc

the problem is finding a mod willing to oversee the process. on oldminibikes.com each month has two threads one for bike entry and the other for poll voting on the 20th when the entry thread is closed. I believe the voting remains open for the remaining days in the month. it seems to work good

idk about cart of the month because i mean iv been buying a new frame about every three months or so but still thatss not that many chances to enter why not do something along the lines of best innovation of the month because anyone can go out to an exsisting frame and make somthing for it i mean anything that improves you carts performance or whatever plus it would probebly be pretty cool to see what people come up with for instance i just read a thread about a homemade super charger stuff like that

While having a competition of some sort would be fun, I think that due to the diversity of the machines built and shown on this forum, it would be nigh impossible to decide a "best" kart every month.
If a contest were implemented, there would have to be several categories for the many different uses we have for the stuff we build. Offroad, Buggies, Shifters, scratch builds, etc.
I do like Robin's idea though. If we could use the type of ratings system on cardomain, for example, that would be cool. Have several different points of interest that could be rated.
Frame
Suspension(if applicable)
Tires
Engine(mods?)
Drive setup
Speed
Paint
It would be kind of cool to see what people think about your creations. With a rating system, more people are likely to click to rate, as it's easier than typing out a review. I know I enjoy reviewing and rating other people's builds, and I'd like to see what people think of mine.
Just some food for thought.

I think we found the rustiest kart! I remember when we JUST finished my go akrt enough to drive, No paint and a little bit of surface rust and I had to reach back for the throttle arm, ripping threw the fields at the track ahh good days....

I remember when my friend tried to left turn and accelerated, when the rear left was the drive wheel. He hit a bank of rocks and got about a meter of air. Crashed through a barbed wire fence. Ghetto brake failure.

ghetto - (adj.) jury-rigged, improvised, or home-made (usually with extremely cheap or sub-standard components), yet still deserving of an odd sense of respect from ghetto dwellers and non-ghetto dwellers alike

I think Kart of the month is the wrong direction , alot of us don`t have thousands of moola to spend on a go kart , thus anyone with money would win ,,,
I think we should have a posting forum where each month when a kart is finished a member can put a few pics of the kart and related info ,, that way everybody can be involved , would make a great section for new and present members to look through to help decide on a kart to build , could even stretch that one more way and at the end of the year Top 12 Karts could be voted in for a calender :cheers2: Bill

What about a kart/mini bike lotto to pick for the month?

Why dont we just have a show your kart / creations thread?? that would be simpler and every week we go through the list and post a persons kart on the home page every week then the next is the other persons so every ones kart is put on the home page

I'm not sure if anyone has been to Mytractorforum.com but the way they set it up is that each person can upload images to their profile (as many as they want), at the home page it shows like 3 or 4 members main picture at the top, and it changes everytime you refresh it. I think something like that would be great.
