I am modifying an old BMX bike to have a 3hp motor. I am thinking of using a 12 tooth clutch and a 72 tooth sprocket. The tire is 20" in diameter. I am 150lb and was wondering before i buy the clutch if this will be sufficient to pull me around and up medium sized hills.

I'd say so. You might get the 11 tooth clutch if you can.

If i can't find 11T will 12 work???

sure. 11 would just be more power.
