Well, I've narrowed my search to a 3Hp and 4hp Tecumseh engine.

However, I noticed something that I don't fully understand:

http://www.smallenginesuppliers.com/shop/agora.cgi?cart_id=4832715.9778*El0Cl6&p_id=00700&xm=on&ppinc=big

It says it has a "manual throttle (No RV control)"

What does the "no RV control" mean? Rotational Velocity?

And do I need an engine with a remote throttle control?

hmmm. I've never heard that term, but to be honest I've only used old motors, never a new one.

I'd say that "manual" probably isn't a problem -- since you want it to be manually controlled (that is, by your throttle handle). But you might shoot them an email to be sure.

ALSO -- be aware that some engines are not "allowed" to be sold for gokarts anymore. I don't know if this applies to mini bikes, but it might. Briggs engines definitely aren't. This is because of lawsuits. So, if they tell you that "no it can't be used for that" make sure what they're talking about.

Anyone ever considered a Lifan engine? They come in all different sizes from a 50cc all the way up to a Chrome 250cc V-twin.... "ready" to run.... engine, carb, starter and or kicker, manual clutch and auto... They are all over greed-bay, but read carefully, some on there don't come with wire harness...

Depending on the size of engine, I think they come with 420 or 428
