Hello, I'm new to the forum. Glad to see there are other "kartknockers" out there.

I wanted to see if anyone has ever used one of the Comet/Hoffco forward/reverse gearboxes. These have a 1:1 forward ratio and a 2.73:1 reverse. I believe these were intended for off-road cart applications and were discontinued a couple of years ago, but are still available.

I intend to use one of these in conjunction with a Comet Torq-a-verter, but was not sure about the extra bulk and weight involved. Still, it would be nice to not have to use my foot to back up the kart!

Any opinions? Thanks!

Jack

well jack shaft, haven't heard of that gearbox but i agree i am always having to get off my kart to back it up. A gearbox would be nice on a kart.

o wait, i have an old gear box from a old mtd lawn tractor. It has forward and reverse at same speed(which is kind of dangerous) but it is only 1 speed. Would this work?
