Hello Robert,
These days the kids race primaraly. I have a 16 y/o daughter, 15 y/o son, and 2 12 y/o's who all get behind the wheel. They all started when they were about 7 y/o. Ever now and then they have a parents night out and I will race my kart that is not pictured. I am the engine builder and mechanic. I blue print clutches, engines and flow carbs. Mostly I am the CFO (ha,ha) Its alot of fun. Thanks for looking!! Dan

I've got a friend whose daughter races Jr. dragsters. There's some pretty nice engines out there. Do those karts you have use the same snowmobile clutch they do? From the pics it looks like a two-sprocket centrifugal clutch setup.

I only use disk clutches, I have a tomar 2 disk clutch on the red kart and a Horstman 3 disc on the Jr sprint. Centrifical clutches get very hot and the drums warp, kinda egg shaped. The disk clutches can be adjusted for engagement at a determined RPM. Want pictures??

I looked at the picture to see what you were talking about, the sprocket in the rear has guide plates. Looks like multiple sprockets though doesnt it!
