Just thought this might be usefull for somone looking into welding. I have a lincoln eletric 180C MIG welder, Using 75/25 Argon Co2 gas mix. My welds come out VERY nice and clean.

And this is the weld I just made. BTW I am using a MILLER auto shade mask. Retails for around 180-200$

It looks different? in what way? Do you mean it just looks REALLY clean? At the end I started to weld faster so it looks kinda distorted. I've tried my dads 30 dollar welding helmet and it didnt look as clear. I could Just barely see the puddle forming.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that picture you have there is TIG welding. You always have ripples with TIG welding. But I did have my heat setting and wire speed a tad on the low side.

I always get ripples with a good weld on a wire feed welder. Also, if you use flux core, the better welds usually have a nice coat of slag you have to chip.

Yeah I get ripples too but this weld was just for fun.

Aww dude, I weld just for fun all the time! This one time, I was driving and I decided I wanted to weld, so I busted out my welder and I started welding stuff to my steering wheel. Fun stuff! :roflol:

I can kinda see what looks like some slight ripples, but the bottom part of that weld is pretty bubbly. Nice and clean though!
