Hello, If you weld your sprocket to your axle, what to do if you wear out the sprocket?

I like the way you think!! But wearing the sprocket out probably isn't too much of a concern if you've got the chain lubed and adjusted right.
However, I simply wouldn't weld it to the axle. This live axle sprocket holder (http://clickserve.cc-dt.com/link/click?lid=41000000013213549) mounts to the keyway in the axle, so you don't need to weld it. Then you mount your sprocket to the holder and you're in business.

if you have a worn out sprocket that is welded on, you might consider using the sproket holder and put the sprocket in a differnet place.
there still would be the old sprocket but it wouldn't do anything.

My kart kept shearing keys off so I had to weild the sprocket hub to the axle. I only hit it in a couple of spots so I could grind it off if replacement was needed.

if you do weld the sprocket on your axle and you wear it all the way down, you could use the worn sprocket as a carrier!! drill a few holes bolt it on and bobs your uncle (you might have to slide the clutch across on the crank shaft to line it up with your newly bolted on sprocket)

I don't think its so much the power as the original owner dumping the clutch on pavement tying to do burnouts and wheelies.
