here are some pictures of my junior go kart (about 3 inches smaller than a regular kart and little bit tighter area to work with) which i attached a 120 cc victa lawnmower to.

The racing kart carbi was attached using a manifold that i had to make from scratch, the engine ran the wrong way for the setup so i had to cut some of the frame out to fit everything (and added more support later on) and the back axle was moved around to fit the chain in its new position.

As you can see in some of the photos i had to make a grill to cover the exhaust manifold because everyone kept burning themselves while they were getting out.
The frame was made out of steel which i had to make to fit the sleepers the engine is sitting on and bolt to the crank case.

I used a heavy duty centrifugal clutch so it wouldn't stall and a 72 tooth sprocket on the axle.
Have a look at the pictures and post if u need me to explain anything any further.
Thanks Brendan.

looks awesome to me. what´s the top end like on that with the 72 tooth sprocket? i´ll bet you can turn some pretty high rpms with that engine .. 2 cycle, right?

That's sweet! what is the gear ratio on it. i'm trying to decide what gear ratio to put on my kart.
how is that clutch working? A friend of mine had a little kart like that and blew the clutch. i guess he didn't have a heavy duty one.
Thanks.

Fabulous DIY project. Was this a vertical shaft engine...I'm presuming so. There has been concern posted on different threads that the oil circulation would somehow be compromised. Have you made a modification to compensate? Have you run the kart much?

Its a heavy duty clutch off a racing kart so thats awsome but i dont ride its just start the engine and start driving,
it is a vertical shaft but it was lying down in the mower.
This is a 2 stroke so it doesnt need an oil sump just a mixture in the fuel
IT RUNS AWSOME, if thats a good enough description hah i had it skidding round corners of my school it was great.
