I recently obtained a gokart body with a solid 3/4 axle, threaded 2"ish on both ends. What are the threads for? To get wheels am I going to need hubs?
If the axle is 3/4 are the hubs going to have to be 1"? Or when it says 1" does it mean I needa 1" axle

This is live axle and yes requires hub and key. Not what I work with. Someone else will chime in. Perhaps Mr. Kibbles can help...

Well, I would, but you all beat me to it already... sheesh... LOL JK.
Magice, that axle you showed with those hubs you linked to would have to all be the same size, 1" or 3/4". I have an axle like yours, but mine is 1", so I got a hub set just like the one you showed on ebay. It has a hex screw on one side that you use to tighten them to the axle.

those are good hubs there. are you sure your axle is not a 1 inch. do you have a local shop around you.

you do not need hubs if it is a live axle that threaded end is to keep tire on. keys are needed. as well as a sproket but it does not have to be on tire so a hub is not needed unless you wanted to do it that way.
if it is for sure 3/4", just get some mower wheels, they are 3/4" with heway, you can put a washer and fine thread nut to keep them on, but you may want to put a collar or the bearing against the back of the wheel to keep the key in the keyway.

they do make 3/4 hubs, for about 36 bucks a pop, but thats too close to the cost of a tire/wheel assembly for most people.
IMO, a 3/4 hub is a great place to start, but you may break/ bend it if you abuse it with hard bounces and heaven forbid airtime.

if you want a cheap o set just go to h.f. 6.00 a wheel with tire if you don't like they will take back .i will never again use a rear 3/4 axle way to easy to bend.
