5 HP B&S head bolt size

Any one know the size of the head bolts on the 5 HP B&S motor like 1/4 5/16 3/8?

I think they're 1/2... maybe 9/16. Certainly not 1/4!!

I know there not 1/4 inch I was just putting it that way so I dont get a answer like 2 mm 3 mm 4mm 5mmm I wanted it in inches.

I hope there a size like 1/2 cause Im putting threaded rod into the block and tightening down all the studs then using nuts from the top to keep the head on. The reason I cant check myself is because My trike is in the race trailer which is in storrage for another week. When I find out the size I can let you know if you want.

yeap they are 1/2bolts. 12 mm wont fit and 13 is just a little to big. so the head bolts are standard bolts.look at 2 of my b&s 5 h.p.motors both the same and years apart.

No I'm not talking about the heads on the bolt im talking about the thread size I think its 3/8

well if the socket is 1/2 for the head.the bolt has to be smaller so i would say has to be 3/8 size thread..
