Threaded Solid Steel Axle
A fixed axle is used for a single wheel drive go kart set up. This gives you better turning ability than a live axle, but poorer traction.
33 in. steel kart axle. 3/4 in. diameter with 3/4 in. x 16 threads on each end.

A fixed axle means one-wheel drive. This is the standard for on-road karts.
If you want an off road kart, then you'll want a live axle or a differential. The fixed axle is best for on road and light off road applications, since only one wheel will spin. This means that you won't have any traction is that wheel can't grip the ground.
